Without king support the knight cannot stop two connected pawns that have reached the sixth rank. Whichever pawn the knight attacks, the other advances with the king's help.
Remove the white king from the previous drill and the pawns win. White's king is stranded on h8, and the knight on b1 must face two connected pawns on d3 and e3 supported by the king on g1.
